Approximately 98% of all email is spam. To most people that’s a frighteningly huge number, but also makes sense to most of us given all the garbage that flows into our inboxes.

When I talk with clients about spam, their number one request is “Make it go away.” People just don’t want to ever see it, let alone have to deal with it. Sure it’s a nuisance, but what effect can it really have on the bottom line?

More and more people are turning away from traditional employment and moving toward establishing a career from their homes. The advent of the Internet and other forms of technology, such as fax machines, have made it possible for entrepreneurs to run entire businesses out of their homes without ever hiring a single employee.

Working from home presents challenges, though. It takes a lot of dedication and willpower to ensure you complete the work you need to do on a daily basis. And, if you’re starting your own business from home, it also takes a lot of hard work to get things up and running–let alone profitable. Furthermore, home-based businesses do run a fairly high risk of failure unless the person has the right attitude and great work ethic.

Good email marketing software can relieve you of all the grunt work involved in keeping your emailing lists up to date. Today, the possibilities for building a home entertainment system are nearly inexhaustible. Different variations and combinations of high-tech components allow viewers to re-create the movie theater experience in their own living rooms. Consumers have a world of equipment to choose from. With so many options available, it’s best to have a little information prior to purchase.

Next to audio capability, the most important element in home theater, is, of course, video. Large-screen direct-view televisions are an affordable way to go. However, if you’re looking to invest in a fancier model, front-projection and rear-projection sets are also available.

Inbound links can do amazing things for your website. Most people just think of links in terms of traffic, but other considerations may be even more valuable. That is of inbound links distinguishing you as an expert, helping your search engine results, putting your product in front of visitor to create sales and generating sales.

When it comes to traffic, not all websites can be blessed with top search engine results. That means traffic needs to be driven from links on other sites. The higher the amount of inbound links your site has, the more doorways to your products there are. So get all the links you can from directories (such as the AuthorityDirectory.com), link partners, forums and resource boxes in articles. These resources can drive traffic to your door.

Feeding the need for audio and video content of all types, podcasting is an increasingly popular way for people on the go to get their music, news, talk show content and information. No longer do we have to listen to the same songs a dozen times on the train commute to work, there is a new world of content out there to compliment our habits. From professional and amatuer news shows to brand new bands showcasing their songs, there is a huge world of content. As of last year, the demand for video podcasting known as video blogging or vlogging was quickly growing. It reminds me of thousands of tiny radio and TV stations broadcasting on the Internet. Listen to your favorite shows, when and where you want. Podcasting can be thought of as a marriage between blogs and Mp3’s, but there is more to it.

With all of the content available online, it’s at first hard to believe that people are willing to pay for information. Well it’s true. People are and do pay for quality online content. As a matter of fact, ‘pay-for-content’ is a major internet money making model. Business content, personals, dating, and entertainment are the hottest niches, but people are looking for even more targeted information via subscription and are ready to click ‘buy now.’

Selling online content by way of a password protected website has become big business. Not only are membership sites relatively easy to set up, but the start-up and operating cost is minimal. Work from home entrepreneurs and big businesses alike are tapping into this new-found revenue source.

Parts of rural America have broadband internet access and I guess you could say it is available to everyone if you consider the satellite services which cover the entire country which are ridiculously expensive for the initial setup and monthly service. There also is a patchwork of local providers offering wireless internet services off of water towers and grain elevators and buildings. These services are limited in the amount of bandwidth they can offer, not because the wireless gear is not capable of high speeds, but because the actual t1s or t3s to provide the backhaul to the internet are so expensive.

There are lots of severe slaughtering going on online that would be better imagined then experienced. I have lost precious hard earned dollars out of my pocket simply because of folly!

There is this adage that says penny wise pound foolish.

To be honest with you, I lost hundreds of dollars simply because I didn’t get the right information that would have save me from a lot of pit falls.
